Restorative Practice Script (Additional/Alternative) Questions

When working restoratively, things don't always go to plan or according to the script!!!  Here are some additional/alternative questions you could ask in such situations.  These questions were developed by Marg Thorsborne.

    I couldn't agree with you more!  I love using a restorative approach and it is great to know there is some flexibility within the restorative chat script to allow for situations that don't go as planned.

    It's good to be reminded of these extra questions we can use when doing restorative conversations and/or conferences. I like the questions about what would do your parents think ..... I think the biggest thing we must remember before doing these restoratives is preparation which Marg would say is vital. Thanks for sharing these extra questions Sam.

    I completely agree with you about the need for preparation!  Having these alternative/additional questions 'up your sleeve' could be a good way to be extra prepared for any restorative context.
