About me

I teach Mathematics at St. Peter's College in Auckland. I am also the eLearning Coordinator and Teacher in Charge of Basketball. Prior to moving to Auckland in 2010, I worked in London, UK as a teacher of Mathematics at The Leigh Technology Academy (Sep '08 - Jul '09) and The Charter School (Sep '09 - Dec '09). I began my teaching career in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois at Northbrook Junior High School as an 8th Grade Math Teacher and 7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach from Aug '05 - Jun '08.

I presented a workshop at Learning@Schools 2011 in Rotorua and again at an Auckland Maths Association in March 2011.

Hi there Tim and welcome to the VLN. Great question - and one more and more people are asking...what do we do in here?

Some support material to help get your head around this site, can be found @ /pg/pages/view/31862/

Also, practical ways to get started (with the tools), can be found @ /pg/groups/25604/getting-started-on-the-vln/

On April 20th, we are going to hold a LIVE event in Elluminate to talk this very idea through...how can we engage our learners in the VLN? More details on this to come.

In the meantime, please don't hesitate to ask me anything, I'm here to help :)
