About me

I teach Mathematics at Middleton Grange School in Christchurch. I teach Years 9-13, specialising in Calculus and Scholarship Calculus. I am particularly passionate (some would say geeky) about finding ways to effectively use ICT to raise both achievement and engagement in Mathematics, and sharing ICT tips with colleagues. I've only just begun my ICT journey though, so I welcome input from more experienced VLN members!

In my spare time, I enjoy playing various musical instruments (mainly guitar), and am in several bands as well as being on my church music team.

    Tēnā koe Stephen,

Welcome to the iPad group on the VLN.

There are lots of great resources to be found here particularly in the discussions and bookmarks.

Please have a good look around and join in the discussions.

Kia ora Stephen, thank you for joining the Southern | Leading Effective e-Learning group. It is envisioned that these groups will become a central hub for a community of like-minded educators - focused on growing e-learning leadership, to impact change for our priority learners.

You might like to take a few moments to introduce yourself, tell us where you're from, share a photo or perhaps your mihi in this thread [/discussion/view/827584].

You might also be interested in conversations about 'what makes an e-learning leader' [/discussion/view/835077]. We'd love to hear your views.

These are great ways to establish and connect a community online, so we'd love to hear from you. Ngā mihi nui, Tess :-)

Thanks Stephen. . I think I am attending your workshop. Looking forward to meeting you at the conference. Thanks for bookmarking the primary group. It will be great to build connections. See you in Wellington.

Kia ora Stephen, I am Vanitha Govini, Mathematics and Statistics facilitator for Te Toi Tupu and trying to build e-learning in primary maths VLN group. I like your idea of adding NZAMT (Maths and ICT ) workshops in to this community and encouraging teachers to share ideas. Is it ok if I cross post the workshops you have shared in to primary group or do you want to post this on to our group? I am OK either way. Are you attending NZAMT? It will be great to catch up with you if you are attending NZAMT. I will be there for the whole conference. I look forward to hearing from you.
