About me

I'm an ESOL and art/design teacher at John Mcglashan college in Dunedin. I am from the UK origionally. This is my first year teaching in New Zealand.  I love to travel and have lived and taught overseas and know how my students feel when moving to a new country and different culture.  I have taken on the pastoral care roll for my students and work with other teachers in the school so that I know exactly what areas each student needs help in with in other subjects.  I'm starting to use unit standards with the students so they can gain credits through ESOL as some have struggled in the past to gain credits in other subjects and my school hasn't offered them in the past.  I look forward to the year ahead and would greatly appreciate any help or advice from anyone!  Thanks. Richard Mountain
