About me

I live in Onerahi, Whangarei with my family - wife Suzie, and three kids. I teach a Yr 5/6 class at Hurupaki Primary School in Kamo, Whangarei and have been there since 2005.

Before becoming a teacher in NZ, I lived in Japan for 3 years. I taught English to children in kingergartens, primary schools and junior high schools in my small rural town. I was able to do this through the JET Program.

I was born and raised in Ashburton, and attended Otago University, where I completed degrees in Mathematics and Japanese language and literature. I am still very much a one-eyed living far from home, but love Whangarei, and all the great support and teachers in the wider community.
