About me

I started teacher education as a mature student with the Auckland College of Education, graduating with my B.Ed in 2002.  I am the Team Leader for the Year 2 Syndicate at Papatoetoe West School in South Auckland.   Prior to entering the teaching profession, I held various secretarial positions in Auckland, Sydney and Papua New Guinea.  I trained as a hairdresser in Winters and worked as a Hairdresser in Cairns, Australia before returning to New Zealand to have my two sons.  I reside in Papatoetoe with my eldest son.  My youngest has been residing with his father in Sydney, Australia since 2010.  In 2011, I was fortunate to secure a Ministry Scholarship so took the opportunity to complete Post Graduate studies in Educational Leadership.  I have also been lucky to hold a Parent Trustee position for the past four terms on my sons primary school within the same locality but at a different school from mine.  I have held the position of Chairperson for the last two terms.  Having a governance perspective contributes to my ongoing growth and development as an educator.

We also put together the e-learning round-up on the blog each fortnight, it is well worth skimming through to see the latest discussions and links, [/blog/group/118255/all].

Looking forward to working with you online.
