About me

I am the Ministry of Education advisor for the Centre for Assistive Technology (CAT). I have been tinkering around with computers for well over 20 years now, and I am still constantly amazed at what technology can allow us to do and achieve. My background is as an experienced primary school teacher, having taught all ages from years 1 – 8. Technology was always a feature of my classroom, and I enjoyed making the most of opportunities that allowed me to explore how technologies could enhance my students’ understanding.

I also work part-time within the Ministry of Education as the Regional Assistive Technology Coordinator for the South Island. This has given me a great base of understanding of assistive technologies and I have learned heaps about how the right technology can enhance educational outcomes for at-risk students.

If you have any specific questions or requests relating to assistive technology please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I am here to help!
