Spencer Baty has been the successful principal of six different schools. He was also a former Advisor to Rural Schools. He recently spent nearly four years as teaching principal of Tapu School ( decile 2) and prior to that was principal of Cockle Bay School, a large decile 10 school in Auckland for seventeen years. He is very experienced in all aspects of school leadership and for five years taught in the Certificate for School Leadership programme at Auckland University. His Masters Thesis was “The New Rural School Principal”
Interests include leadership, appreciative inquiry, fishing in all its forms, family especially grandchildren, home improvement, John Grisham and Lee Child books.
