Education has great impacts on our tamariki and as a teacher, I recognize that patience, understanding, compassion, and acknowledging diversity are essential to this profession which I am whole-heartedly prepared to provide.  I am currently teaching at Omarumutu School with the year 7 and 8 class.

I pursued teaching as a career because I felt the strong desire to positively influence and educate children so as to enrich their lives. Omarumutu School has given me the opportunity to:

  • demonstrate a great commitment to my teaching and as a beginning teacher, I am more open to different ways of thinking about and practising teaching.
  • be more efficient and effective in my classroom organisation and management
  • plan effectively and engage in other professional activities.

Kia ora Sekope and welcome to the Blended e-learning Literacy group.

This is a group to support the e-Learning aspect of raising student achievement in literacy.

Do use the Group discussion navigation tab to join in and/or initiate discussion about the use of e-Learning to support literacy. Share your favourite tools or readings through the Group bookmarks or expand on this in the Group blog.

Remember, the best way to learn something is to teach it, so be active in this space and contribute your ideas to enrich the practice of all.

Looking forward to working with you online.

    Ngā mihi nui, nā Anne
