About me
I am currently on maternity leave with my second baby, Mason (and loving it!)
I joined CORE as part of the Learning with Digital Technologies Team, specializing in Inclusive Practice and Universal design for Learning in 2013 and continued this in 2014. I returned to Fairhaven in 2015.
Over the past 10 years I have been working in special education at Fairhaven School as a classroom teacher, ICT lead teacher, Associate Principal and ICTPD Cluster Facilitator. I am excited by the opportunities technologies bring to learning enviroments and always keen to explore new and inclusive ways to implement them. Usually you will find me behind a camera capturing those 'golden moments'. In 2012 I participated in the National Aspiring Principals Programme with Te Toi Tupu gaining a wealth of knowledge of senior leadership in schools. Prior to working with special needs students I taught for 3 years in a mainstream high school (yrs 8-13).
Give a man a fish and he has food for a day....
...teach a man to fish ...
and he has to buy special rods, special reels, different lines, tackle boxes, boats, trailers, lures, poppers, stick baits, hooks, sinkers, fish finders, chart plotters, radars, bigger boats, bigger trailers, chilly bins, bait, ice and beer...

Nice one for voting again doll and thanks for the 'thumbs up' clarification in the poll comments too. Awesome.
I'm thinking on Friday I'm going to post a summary of these activities with an explanation for why the tasks are useful/important to us in this community.
Anyway here's the 'Day 3 CHALLENGE WINNER' community badge (different from other days) to add to your profile as well. http://bit.ly/1srSCLk

Kia ora Roxy, thank you for joining the Leading Effective e-Learning group. It is envisioned that these groups will become a central hub for a community of like-minded educators - focused on growing e-learning leadership, to impact change for our priority learners.
You might like to join the Central North sub-group [/groups/profile/827342/central-north-region-leading-effective-e-learning] and take a few moments to introduce yourself, tell us where you're from, share a photo or perhaps your mihi in this thread [/discussion/view/827581]. This is a great way to establish and connect a community online, so we'd love to hear from you. Ngā mihi nui, Tess :-)
