About me

Ko Mauao te maunga,

Ko Tauranga te moana,

Ko Ngati Ranginui me Ngati Pukenga ōku iwi,

Ko Moana Brown tōku ingoa,

Tihei mauri ora!

I live in the sunny Bay of Plenty ... love climbing the Mount, swimming, riding my bike, playing at the beach and spending time with my whānau.  I've been involved in education for over twenty years in various roles ... enjoyed being a Health and PE teacher, Senior Manager, Secondary School Advisor and Facilitator in both English and Māori medium kura.  I am a trained Restorative Practices Facilitator, have spoken at the 2nd Restorative Practices International Conference in Vancouver, Canada and have had an interest in working restoratively throughout my teaching career.  I love working with kids ... learning from them, inspiring them, challenging them to be great learners and achievers, teaching them skills and strategies to be amazing and successful young adults, and encouraging them to be inclusive and culturally responsive.  My new role as a PB4L RP Regional Coordinator excites me and I look forward to working alongside schools and kura to create positive environments where all children have a sense of wellbeing, feel supported and can succeed.
