About me

Kia ora!  My name is Lisa Grant and I am one of two teaching DP's at Tiaho Primary in Wairoa.  I am  from Gisborne, but have been living and teaching in Wairoa for 10 years...  I have a nearly 8 (going on 15) year old daughter - Kaia- and she comes to Tiaho with me which is great, because I get to see her every day, but I am dreading the day she ends up in my class! :P

I have joined this group because I want to gain confidence and a better understanding of Te Reo Maori, so that I can share my learning with my whanau, and my tamariki at school.  While I know a few words and phrases here and there, I would like to become proficient enough to converse with my partners whanau, and my colleagues, as well as developing a better awareness of my children and their cultures, and learning from their experiences...

Nga mihi nui

Lisa

Kei te pai Lisa - I totally understand. Once we are all a little more familiar with how the VLN 'ticks' I'm sure it will become a lot easier to pop in and contribute on a weekly basis. All going well, I might get to meet you f2f in Wairoa on June 8th? A te wā, nā Dee

Kia ora Lisa, welcome to the VLN. Are you still wanting to join Te Manawa Pou? Go to Groups (top left menu bar), search for Te Manawa Pou, then request to join by clicking on 'join group'. Ngā mihi, nā Dee
