About me
Julie runs her own consultancy working in schools throughout New Zealand. She offers a very practical approach to school wide practice. Until recently year she taught in a school one day and intermediate sector so draws on a wealth of experience to help clarify learning across the curriculum. In particular her work with SOLO Taxonomy gives clarity to all levels of learning and teaching. She works with schools to develop their own curriculum which gives the schools direction to run successful inquiry learning modules and to implement change. Her approach to inquiry learning is a direct result of fine tuning the theory into a practical realm so that teachers and students have achievable and realistic outcomes.
Recently she has been contracted by Core Education to direct and provide professional learning for an initiative funded by the Commission for Financial Capability .These contracts involve seventeen schools including primary, middle, secondary schools and tertiary sectors.
Her experience as a principal as well as her previous roles over an eleven year period as director/ of several MOE contracts including ICT, Gifted and Raising High Standards gives her the ability to work effectively in all sectors. Julie has written educational material for government departments and has published resources. She is often called on to consult for other government departments working in the educative sector. Her most recent contract for last year for Superu involved over thirty secondary schools.
She continues to run her consultancy and is presently working in several schools. Julie is an experienced presenter who has presented nationally and internationally.
