About me

Kia ora,

I am a contractor currently working on a couple of projects on behalf of the NZ Ministry of Education

  • LAM's online learning environment;
  • NCEA standards alignment project;
  • Tū Rangatira project.
Both of which have communities here within the VLN.
ICT's have been a passion of mine coupled with pedagogy. In simple terms I like to play with them and then see how they can be used to better enhance teaching and learning in traditional and non-traditional settings.
I have just returned from a year in Abu Dhabi working as a teacher advisor in a reform project. Prior to my year out I managed the TMoA project (2006-2010) and was a National Facilitator for the ICT PD for CORE Education LTD (2000-2005). Like most I am an ex-primary trained teacher and worked in both English and Māori medium settings. I am a fluent speaker of Māori and I would like to think my English is fluent at most times. I trained at Waikato University graduating with a Dip.T, B.Ed, PGD.Ed, M.Ed.
Born and breed in Rotorua and now living here again. Love the lakes, the moutains but most of all the natural mineral water baths, or ngāwhā as we call them.
Looking forward to making new connections via the VLN within the communities.
Noho ora mai :-)
