HI

The student journals are only visible to anyone you invite to view it - eg parents , grandparents etc. The journals can be open for other students in the class to see and comment on posts or there is the open to turn off the viewing option.
As you mentioned the blogs are the only part open to public.
Seesaw is a great tool, the majority of students and teachers find it very easy to use.
Keep in touch.

Hi there,
Just doing a bit of research about Seesaw. Can the students' journals be public to others outside the school or only the class blog? We want to have a wider audience for our blogs and are currently using blogger but because there is no blogger app capabilities anymore, it's really hard to post using the ipads. We want blogging and recording to be easy for our students to use not frustrating :)
Thanks
I agree

The 'Why' is always important to make sure everyone has a shared understanding. The biggest thing for me is to ensure it is student driven and this can take time (skill development, online etiquette, how we share our learning, what we share).
My suggestion is to start small and choose 1 thing to focus on to develop student agency. This might be:
As a team or school take the time to think about how you want to use Seesaw.
Just a few initial thoughts- what other suggestions do you have?
I've been supporting a few schools with their Seesaw implementation. Before schools have invited families and whanau into Seesaw schools have generally waited until each child has a few examples in their journal. It was also important for all staff and students to know why they are using Seesaw and also to establish some expectations and consistencies around the process.
