There are many web 2.0 tools and apps available for making eBooks.

• Working online with Storyjumper
  suitable for all browsers, but not available for making eBooks on iPads, although can be viewed on them. Check out this one by clicking on the book.

• Book Creator - iPad and Android app - free lite version but you can only make one book.  Full version $6.49

This is a very simple app that students should teach themselves (Key competencies). Have them explore each of the icons in the app but basically:

	to add any photos (with iPad camera or from camera roll), drawings, text or sound.   NB Reluctant writers can be assisted to write by inserting their drawing or photo, then recording their story before adding a simplified text version
	to add information so that things look different e.g. text size, colour, background.
	to share your eBook through e.g. inclusion in your iBook app.

• Story Buddy - iPad app - Lite version available free but you really need the full version ($2.99)

• and there are thousands of other possibilities as any Google search for "eBook maker" will show.  Encourage your students to explore some of the free ones available - researching and using an online tutorials can be a great part of your reading programme that students will enjoy.  They can then share their findings with other students or the class as part of their oral language development, or as part of transactional writing, design their own tutorial using the actual eBook software/app as the vehicle.
