I was lucky enough to attend the recent TTPA course at Barge Park, where Mark Osbourne from Albany Senior High School shared his wealth of experience with mobile devices in schools.

PLUS:

• Discussions based around the idea of BYOD - the advantages and challenges of this
• Discussions based around the purposes of ePortfolios
• New Apps for iPad, google apps
• Networking with other schools and Principals, sharing our journeys and troubleshooting any problems/challenges they may be facing.

MINUS:

• Many ideas were targeted at secondary students
• Some of the ideas were not relevant to our school, our teachers and our students

IDEAS FOR NEXT STEPS:

• Look into google docs / apps as a future direction for the school
• blogging from email and mobile devices
