Once again Room 3 -after popular requests from new and old class members-have embarked on the exciting self paced inquiry self directed learning and teaching programme Youtube Revolution. This once a week programme is based on a pedagogical premise that in the foreseeable future children will be designing and accessing their own learning programmes. In most cases those areas of interest are in the creative curriculum. Dance, singing, art, learning a language, learning to play an instrument, gymnastics, card games, stick games, make up classes and much much more are accessed. Great skills sets are developed from cooperation skills, inquiry skills, learning how to refine and define areas of interest, self critical skiils, self-pacing skills and looking at either Youtube clips or other websites to make sure that these are are meeting required needs. Needless to say, that after I gave the class a big thumbs up at the end of Term 1 that we would be doing is and then beginning this process during the first week of Term 2, excitement levels and focus were at a fever pitch.
