We need to ask the right questions, and be very sure about how children do their BEST Learning.
We looked at the student role, and our role in light of our outcomes based NZ curriculum. Are we really effective at scaffolding thinking opportunities for our students, or do we do ALL THE THINKING FOR THEM!
Why do we want to use INQUIRY? What are our LEARNING GOALS?
Good inquiry is something that achieves this goal, our end point.
This needs to be defined for our school. What are the attitudes and skills that we hope to build. We have a mandate to draw these from the competencies.
