Hi Paula! Thank your for joining the Connected Rotorua Teachers group. Please feel free to use resources, share your questions and experiences in discussions. Cheers Marnel & Annemarie :-)

  • Paula Jamieson

The 1:1 iPad roll out at Te Akau ki Papamoa is just rocking along! Loving that all of our pre planned systems and structures are seamlessly allowing our students to have 100% of the learning benefits and autonomy straight away. Discovering the power of iBooks author and making books to deliver content via iTunes U has been my new learning which has proven to be hugely rewarding.

E-Learning Workshops are open for Term 2. Lots of choices e.g. - iPads for Beginners, iPads in Special Ed, google Tools for School Leaders. Check them out http://www.switchonnz.com/workshops.html

    Hi Paula
I would LOVE your feedback on my research on the VLN - have re-opened the survey until the end of the week (things had gone quiet so assumed it had tailed off;) > http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VLN_Survey
Thank you so much!! Cheers, Karen

Hi Paula, I've been thinking about our current thread on iPads in Education @ /discussion/view/695568 and thought about you.

I know you are passionate about iPads and I'm certain others would also love to hear more about your experiences with them and how they can be used in the classroom. Wadduya think? Tess :-)

Hi Paula, Andrew from LEARNZ here. Would be great if you could let the schools in your cluster know about our virtual field trip to Ruapehu next week. Registering with LEARNZ and field trip enrolment is free to all NZ registered teachers. It is going to be a fantastic trip in your own back yard! For more information go to www.learnz.org.nz. Thanks

    Hi all,
I'm desperately seeking a digital copy of Hermann's Brain 'cards'. You know the ones that you swap and then see which you have the most of, from what color.......I seem to have mislaid my well used set in my latest laptop upgrade. Any offers of help greatly appreciated!

Kia ora Paula, we have created some community badges (/pg/groupcms/view/231460/) that show recognition to those who have actively participated in the Enabling e-Learning community groups this year.

Please feel free to download the badges that best represent how you have engaged on the EE groups - for example, "I took the challenge". This can be uploaded to your profile page or any other online presence you have.

Again, thank you for your thoughtful contributions. Ngā mihi mō te Kirihimete and see you online in 2012!

Do you pay for zamzar, or just the free version. It asked me to select a pay for use version when I tried to register.

  • Daphne Papuni

good luck..I've also emailed some key people in the Ministry, am waiting for a response - I will let you know what they say :-)

  • Daphne Papuni

Hi Paula, thanks for posting this patai - Tataiako, unfortunately doesn't fall under my brief, and to be honest, I don't know who is responsible for this piece of work at the Ministry or the Teachers Council. Can I suggest you make an inquiry at the teachers council -

Hi Paula, how are you? Are you going to the MADE awards next week?

Enjoyed reading your input in the teaching challenge, we're also running a 30 day challenge in the leadership community http://bit.ly/vpfGr7 and we're looking for 30 top tips in 30 days so we can create a slideshare or resource of some kind - that people can access when thinking about recruiting new staff.

Sooo, I'd love to hear your view on...
If you were principal for a day and were interviewing new appointments in your school,.. what e-learning skills and knowledge would you expect them to have? One thing?

    What do you reckon?
    Tess:)

Thanks for your help. (and the idea)

  • Barbara Reid

Thanks. It changes from browser to browser but happy for the moment. Have now figured out how to do it in big huge labs when I have spare time :-)
