ESL classes are naturally multi-levelled even when they are streamed. This group is an investigation into planning, designing, organising and delivering a sustainable course which provides differentiated blended learning centres over three levels.
Rotation Stations (aka Learning Centres) providing differentiation is used mostly in primary school, but after a bit of research the concept is definitely alive and kicking in the international secondary school arena. There are many models of learning stations - which incorporate blended learning: flex model, playlists, hyperdocs, and the list seems to go on...
A collection of websites which give accounts of the various ways teachers introduce learning centres into their classroom are in the bookmarks. Enough to make your head spin and wonder what is good and what is bad!
So now, next step after gathering this huge plethora of texts is when the fun begins! There is sifting, sorting, synthesising and molding to do, to make all of this information relevant and work for our students and us here in New Zealand.
And that is where we all get started....
