Learning beyond borders

Learning beyond borders

Owner: Janet McFadden

Group members: 38

E-learning extends learning far beyond conventional borders, cutting across geographic and knowledge boundaries. This group provides the opportunity for further sharing, exploration and reflection on:

  • ways that social media can connect and engage readers
  • new and extended services that school libraries can offer by providing 24/7 access for users
  • how content curation tools can help your students (and teachers) manage information overload

National Library Services to Schools has run online courses on each of these three broad topics, and will do so again in 2014. Each of these areas offers great opportunities for teachers and school librarians to work together for the benefit of your students.

We warmly invite course participants as well as any other interested teachers and school librarians to join this VLN group and contribute your ideas and experience. Feel free to start a new discussion thread!

Brief description: Forum inviting you to share successes and challenges relating to use of online tools to connect and engage readers, curate content for your students, and create a 24/7 online presence for your school library.
