Description:

This PLD provision is aimed at:

  • Kura Kaupapa Māori Years 9-13
  • Kura ā-Iwi Years 9-13
  • Māori-medium Settings Years 9-13

Tailored in-depth programmes through this PLD provision will support the following needs for schools:

  • Kia mātau ki te Pāngarau – content
  • Kia mātau ki te whakaako – pedagogy
  • Kia mātau ki te reo matatini o te Pāngarau – mathematical literacy

Participating schools will be supported to:

  • use effective systems and appropriate tools and items to plan, collect, monitor and manage assessment data use data to inform ongoing improvements
  • support all ākonga to experience, engage in and achieve success in Pāngarau
  • improve Pāngarau teaching and learning through: mentoring, questioning,
  • leadership, feedback, observations and a focus on sustainability

Length of programme

  • The duration of in-depth support will be agreed to with allocated schools.
  • Schools will be able to access flexible support through regional workshops that will be planned to focus on pedagogical content knowledge.

Te Toi Tupu will provide these services in the following Ministry of Education regions during 2012 and 2013: 

  • Central North
  • Central South
