Te Kete Aronui -

One of our baskets of knowledge - Te Kete Aronui - the kete of knowledge of what we see, that before us - what we need to pay attention to - Knowledge & skills known and available to mankind, regardless of their origin.

View this space as a kete of knowledge - Access resources and participate in professional discussions about Identity, Language, Culture and Community Engagement.

We want to:

  • Raise the awareness of ECE participating centres knowledge and experiences of Identity, language and engagement to meet the cultural needs and aspirations of tamariki, whānau and community.
  • Provide and implement language and cultural opportunities that would be part of each child's learning, to engage from home to ECE service and from ECE service into the community.

Regular updates about project initiatives will be posted here

Te Whāriki is the Ministry of Education's early childhood curriculum policy statement.  All of the participating centres are using this Curriculum document. The link to the Ministry of Education site is here: ECE Education
