Virtual Learning Network

This group was set up to collect and collate info around how the Auckland War Memorial Museum can improve their offering to schools, tertiary institutions, teachers, students, and all other "lifelong learners".

My aim is to establish a direct communication channel between the Museum and all you teachers, educators, and learners out there in the digital space!

About the Auckland Museum and its Vision

The Auckland Museum is a true treasure trove for educators and learners alike and there are plenty options and opportunities to get access to some unique learning resources, activities, stories, artefacts, collections, archives, etc

We are currently making a huge push towards digitising our collections and semantically connecting them, which will include a complete rework of our databases and websites. Part of our digital initiative -and my personal aim- is to improve our digital and eLearning offering to our audiences in the wider Auckland region, and on a national and international level. We want to enable you to easily find and access our resources -including but not limited to digtial ones- to integrate into your curriculum and enrich your and your peers learning experience. We also want to enable you to feed back into and contribute to our offerings.

Interfacing with the community and established networks is crucial to this process and we are comitted to gather as much information and feedback from yourselves to really nail this!

I am open to all suggestions, feedback, critique - anything really that you always wanted to hear from or say to us. Please fire away!
