Term 1, Week 4: Keeping up-to-date

  • Public
Last updated by Breda Matthews

Hi everyone,

Last week Julie Luxton shared a summary of the changes for the new and revised unit standards - many thanks Julie for all the great work you do keeping us up-to-date.

Athlyn started a conversation about finding appropriate forms to assess unit standard 27998 version 3. Lots of great suggestions and Laura Curwood has already started re-writing her assessment resources and has shared the first on the VLN. Many thanks Athlyn and Laura for starting this conversation and for sharing Laura.

If anyone else would like to upload their resources to the VLN, I will link them to the main page of assessment resources.

If you don't know about our VLN groups, this is how to join.

  • First join the VLN if you have not already done so and / or log in to the VLN. It can take up to 24 hours for your application to join the VLN to be processed.
  • Join the groups you are interested in. These are our VLN groups:

Still talking of sharing - Heidi Burris asked about ELLP matrices in student friendly language and both Ami Kindler and Athlyn Watt shared resources for this. Would it be a good idea to upload these to the Teacher Resource Exchange so that the community has access to them in the future? The Teacher Resource Exchange is here.

On the issue of keeping up to date. I am running some online workshops on the revised unit standards for reading and writing. These are aimed at teachers in more isolated areas who find it difficult to get to main centres for PD and who didn’t attend the sessions on the chnages that were organised last year. There are a couple of spaces left on 1st March at either 9.30 - 11.30am or 1-3pm. Find out more here.

The date for ESOL funding applications is 1 March. Find out more here.
