Hi everyone,

Last week we discussed selecting suitable texts for unit standard 28058.


As mentioned in the posts graded readers can be used and Sarah Roper made several useful suggestions which you can find here. I’m sure it would be useful to share the titles of more texts your students enjoy.


Registration for the additional NZQA Roadshow - English Language - Supporting Consistent Assessment Practice - is now open. Registration closes Friday 23 March.

On other communities

Secondary Literacy Online discussed reading and Christine Rubie-Davies research into the importance of having high expectations for students. The video certainly made me reflect on my practice.


Primary ESOL Online discussed building relationships with learners


and shared a link to bilingual phrases for school


Also on the same site search in the left hand navigation panel for a variety of subject resources in different languages e.g Resources for Science teachers - these could be very useful.
