Week 4: EL and EAP reviews

  • Public
Last updated by Breda Matthews

Hi everyone,

Last wee was relatively quiet. I imagine, testing, course planning and applying for funding are taking up a lot of time! So many thanks to those who did find time in their busy schedules to contribute.

Athlyn shared a video ‘Fired up’  - many thanks

Hilary shared strategies from supporting L1 use at home.

Julie shared details for the upcoming review of EL unit standards.

I reminded everyone that the closing date for the review of the EAP standards is 28th february and outlined some of the key changes. It is essential, that the secondary sector voice is heard so do find time to fill out the feedback. All the links you need are in my post.

Upcoming national events

I have had a couple of requests for links to my blog on assessment and, in particular, suggestions for vocabulary assessment. Find it here - scroll down to the 9th February.

On other communities

Primary ESOL Online  continued to discuss ways to promote oral language.

Secondary Literacy Online asked Mastery and mindset

Literacy Online shared some conference dates you might be interested in.

Kind regards
