Matariki/Puanga

Last updated by Anaru White

Nei te mihi ki a tātou i tēnei wā o te tau hou ka whakanuia i te rewatanga o Matariki o Puanga.
Best wishes to us all at this time of the new year as we celebrate the rising of Matariki and Puanga.

Note: For many iwi the appearance of Puanga (Rigel in Orion) in the night sky signalled the start of winter/the New Year.

I am interested to hear about any activities your classroom, school or community has planned for Matariki and Puanga. Also I invite you to share any resources or links in this discussion. Anyone blending in e-learning in their mahi?
