Hi everyone,

Welcome to Term 1, 2015! I hope you are all refreshed and ready to go. It has certainly been a glorious summer for holiday makers if not those in more water dependent industries.

Our conversations have already begun this year with an interesting discussion around assisting ELLs to access the Maths curriculum.

Please remember that to access the archive you now need the following:
username: eesollonline  - please note the double 'e' and double 'l'
password: mailinglist

Whilst this might seem a wee bit inconvenient it is to protect your privacy.

So you can find out conversation on Maths and ELLs here.

In the last 2 week some of us have been undertaking the TESOL International's free online PD. I signed up for the Moodle course which has been challenging but very worthwhile. Has anyone else
started one of these courses? Perhaps we could share our learning on this. I'd be very keen to hear from anyone who did the pronunciation course and of, course would be happy to share what i have learnt too.

The Language Education and Diversity conference's call for papers is closing on 1st February. Find my post here

or go direct to the LED page.

Over the summer I have made much more use of Twitter to follow what is happening in the world of language teaching.  ESOL Online has it's own Twitter account that you can follow connect to twitter.com/esolonline.

If you not sure about using social media and online tools, you can still access the Starter Kete from Connected educator Month here.

I have put up my first blog for this year entitled 'Planning for the new year' You will be able to find it on the ESOL Online VLN group and at bredamatthews.blogspot.co.nz.

Have a great week
Breda
