...nā reira, ko te toa mō te taonga, “Rahi Tū Taka Hina”, arā, mō te kaitākaro o te tātāwhāinga ā-motu Ki-o-Rahi, ko… Mere Tāmati nō Te Kura o Waiwhakaiho!

...and the winner of the “Rahi Tū Taka Hina” trophy, that is for, the most outstanding player of the Ki-o-Rahi national competition, is… Mere Tāmati from Te Kura o Waiwhakaiho!

Piripi:

Hē rawa noa tēnā! Ko koe kē te toki, Hineata.

That ain’t right! You’re a way better player, Hineata.

Hineata:

E kāo, he ihu hūpē noa ahau ki tēnei tauwhāinga. He whiwhita ake te Mere rā. Ahakoa tōna ringatahi, he iti kahikātoa hoki.

Nah, I’m still getting the hang of this competition. That Mere’s got mean wheels. She may be tiny, but man can she play.

Tāwera:

E tika ana ka riro kē i a au te taonga rā.

I think I deserved that award.

Rāwinia:

E tama! Ki te hiahia koe kia mōhiotia tōu pai, mihia ngā painga o ētahi atu!

Whatever! When you start recognising everyone else’s talent, then you’ll know how good you really are.

Kōkā Pēti:

...ka mutu, ko te kura kua eke panuku i tēnei tau… Aiii! Ko tōku ake, ko Te Kura o Piki Kōtuku!

...and finally, the school champions for this year are… Woah! My own school, Te Kura o Piki Kōtuku!
