Hi everyone,

   We have had a busy week on the listserve and in the VLN groups.
 
On the listserve we continued our conversation on us 28058. Our conversation included interpretation of the standard, how make a request for a clarification and suggestions of where to find suitable texts. Here is the list of the suggestions. Many thanks to all those who contributed.
 
We also discussed resources for us 17372.
 
Bev has asked a question about using English standard 2.8.
 
On the VLN groups there has been lively discussion and sharing of resources for a wide range of standards. Click here to view the conversations. Remember to log into the VLN.
 
Chris McQuirk uploaded a new resource to the Teacher Resource Exchange. This is a unit plan for Foundation level students entitled My Place- A Home in Taamaki MakauRau.
 
I uploaded two more Setting the Standard resources to the VLN. The full list of resources now includes:

  •  2969 version 7: Read recounts in familiar contexts
  •  2974 version 7: Read simple texts to obtain practical information
  •  2985 version 7: Read simple information texts
  •  17139 version 4: Write simple descriptions

  •  3477 version 7: Write recounts on familiar topics
  •  17370 version 4: Write expressing a viewpoint
  •  17372 version 4: Write recounts
