  •  Voicethread - An old favourite that was originally free but now requires you to purchase a licence for online use or in app purchases for the app version.  Ideal for creating slideshows with pictures/photos and audio.  Students can use this to provide comment or to read aloud as in an eBook.

  • Podomatic - create your own podcasts using software on your computer and upload, or create your own free minicast on site through uploading graphics and recording the audio.

  • Tellagami - make your own quick animated videos - Tutorial available on site

Video Tools

Screen Capture Video - To record explanations of student understanding of processes, software etc use screen video capture programmes such as  Techsmith's Jing or IShowU HD (Mac).  These programmes will video capture actions on screen with voice explanations that accompany the actions.  You will find tutorials and free downloads on their website (front page on Jing and in the Help menu for IShowU

You may already have video editing software on your computer or mobile device.  Also check out your App Store for iPad or Android apps.  There are many that are free.
