    if you have nothing to say- say nothing.  If you have something to say then own it and be responsible for the consequences that come from it.  But remember: Well DONE is far better than well SAID.  Why not engage with all kids? What have we got to lose? Unless you're full of assumptions that you are the BE ALL and END ALL of all knowledge that there is.  Which goes to say then that you are not engaging in ako - that the teacher has got something to learn from the learner.  No apologies for making others feel uncomfortable because  it was never meant to be easy - just worth it.
