LIVE WEBINAR: Gaming in education: Wednesday, 13 November, 3.45 - 4.45pm

There’s new buzz in town, digital games aren’t just for home. Gaming in education has huge potential for engaging and motivating learners, as well as developing key comptencies and supporting curriculum goals.

With a growing interest in games like Minecraft - what does this mean? What does this look like and how can we harness interactive applications and online games to improve student learning? Relevant from primary/secondary. Guest presenter: Hamish Chalmers.

This webinar is currently supported by a thread in the Enabling e-Learning | Teaching group: LIVE WEBINAR: Gaming in education | An Enabling e-Learning event

Your input and ideas are valued and welcome in this LIVE workshop. We invite you to ask questions, share your own practice, and discuss how you are accessing/using games to enhance learning opportunities in your classrooms.

Prior to the day

You will need to ensure your computer is ready to launch a desktop application to view this workshop in Blackboard Collaborate (formerly called Elluminate). If you have already used Blackboard Collaborate before, you will not need to do the following.

Step 1:

Please go to Blackboard Collaborate First Time Users/Checking system requirements and see if you have the green tick. If you do, congratulations you may move to the next part of the set up. If you see the red cross you need to follow the instructions to download Java Web Start.

If you are unable to do this, please contact your own technical support people immediately. If you can download it and the red cross changes to a green tick, then it's time to move onto the next step.

Step 2:

Join the Configuration Room to test your connection and configure your audio. To view the hardware and software pre-requisites for Blackboard Collaborate, please visit www.elluminate.com/support
