Increasingly secondary educators are seeking opportunities to discuss the influence of e-learning on learning areas & Inquiry. In this webinar we'd like to explore how e-learning tools can be used specifically in secondary schools contexts - with references to implications for NCEA. Steve Mouldey and Tim Gander will share their experiences of integrating e-learning into effective learning design for students.

This webinar will be supported by a thread in the Enabling e-Learning | Teaching group.

Wednesday, August 28th, 3.45-4.45pm with Karen Melhuish and Tessa Gray.

Your input and ideas are valued and welcome in this LIVE workshop. We invite you to ask questions, share your own practice, and discuss how you are accessing/using e-tools to support your secondary students.

Prior to the day

You will need to ensure your computer is ready to launch a desktop application to view this workshop in Blackboard Collaborate (formerly called Elluminate). If you have already used Blackboard Collaborate before, you will not need to do the following.

Step 1:

Please go to Blackboard Collaborate First Time Users/Checking system requirements and see if you have the green tick. If you do, congratulations you may move to the next part of the set up. If you see the red cross you need to follow the instructions to download Java Web Start.

If you are unable to do this, please contact your own technical support people immediately. If you can download it and the red cross changes to a green tick, then it's time to move onto the next step.

Step 2:

Join the Configuration Room to test your connection and configure your audio. To view the hardware and software pre-requisites for Blackboard Collaborate, please visit www.elluminate.com/support

We recommend you login from at least 3pm to give yourself time to trouble shoot. Contact your admin support in the first instance if you are having issues. It is recommended you wear a set of headphones, headsets or echo cancellation microphone/speakers to help avoid any sound issues. Please feel free to contact Tessa prior to this meeting, if you have any queries.

We look forward to connecting with you during this time.
