WEBINAR: What does effective e-learning pedagogy and UFB look like? Wednesday 5 June, 3.45-4.45pm

Fast fibre connection - what's the point? Nayland Primary school has captured their journey of ultra-fast broadband in their school (Learning without Limits, Enabling e-Learning). In this webinar, they will unpack what effective e-learning pedagogy looks like when ultra-fast broadband is an authentic part of teaching and learning in the classroom.

Wednesday, June 5th, 3.45-4.45pm with Tessa Gray and Catriona Pene.

Your input and ideas are valued and welcome in this LIVE workshop. We invite you to ask questions, share your own practice, and discuss how you are accessing/using Ultra-fast broadband in your teaching and learning.

Prior to the day

You will need to ensure your computer is ready to launch a desktop application to view this workshop in Blackboard Collaborate (formerly called Elluminate). If you have already used Blackboard Collaborate before, you will not need to do the following.

Step 1:

Please go to Blackboard Collaborate First Time Users/Checking system requirements and see if you have the green tick. If you do, congratulations you may move to the next part of the set up. If you see the red cross you need to follow the instructions to download Java Web Start.

If you are unable to do this, please contact your own technical support people immediately. If you can download it and the red cross changes to a green tick, then it's time to move onto the next step.

Step 2:

Join the Configuration Room to test your connection and configure your audio. To view the hardware and software pre-requisites for Blackboard Collaborate, please visit www.elluminate.com/support

We recommend you login from at least 3pm to give yourself time to trouble shoot. Contact your admin support in the first instance if you are having issues. It is recommended you wear a set of headphones, headsets or echo cancellation microphone/speakers to help avoid any sound issues. Please feel free to contact Tessa prior to this meeting, if you have any queries.

We look forward to connecting with you during this time.

Thank you for sharing your stories. It showed that no matter what you get, it is only deliverable if good pedagogy and Professional Development are delivered in conjunction with Ultra Fast Broadband. Ultra Fast Broadband is only part of the answer. I think these would be better if they were called a look at a Modern Learning Environment, They look at more than just the journey of the school, but how learning and teaching have changed to embrace the developments.
