While yesterday was Safer Internet Day NZ 2020 - the world’s biggest campaign to make the internet a safer place, every day should be a safer Internet day. Closer to home, Netsafe is calling on all NZers to ponder, what could a safer internet look like @ #SID2020.

Safer Internet day Unfortunately events evolve online that make us re-think human nature. Why not talk to your students about global citizenship concepts and what it means to be a successful digital citizenship. For more see Using digital technologies and social media for good

Also, check out Enabling e-Learning's Digital citizenship page, Digital citizenship modules & Digital fluency page and share this research showing 25% of New Zealand kids have experienced something online that has caused them concern. For more see, Ngā taiohi matihiko o Aotearoa – New Zealand kids online study (Published 10 Feb 2020).

What do your safer internet days look like? Any classroom resources, digital citizenship programmes or policy documentation to share with Mike and others? https://vln.school.nz/discussion/view/986790
