Connected Learning Advisory logoEarlier this year, the Connected Learning Advisory published an article, How to introduce mobile digital devices to your school. This article includes a number of points that the advisory recommends you consider when implementing 1:1 devices or BYOD:

The following factors were looked at:

  • how the devices will be used to support learning

  • strategic planning

  • policies and procedures

  • digital citizenship

  • safety and security, and,

  • privacy.

A number of schools across the country have already implemented a 1:1 or BYOD scheme (or similar) and many more are in the process of considering or implementing one.

For those who have implemented such a scheme:

  • What went well for you?
  • Did anything come up that you weren't expecting during the planning or implementation phases?
  • Do you have anything else to add to the factors listed above that could be considered?

If you are currently considering a 1:1 or BYOD scheme or implementing one, perhaps you have some questions you would like to ask, or issues/concerns you are working through.
