WordQ equivalent for use on Chromebooks

Started by Kim Tautari-Scott 03 Mar 2015 9:59pm () Replies (8)

Hi everyone

I am looking for the equivalent or something very similar to WordQ that can be used by our learners using Chromebooks - apps or extensions.  Your help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Kim

    Hi Kim

I think the best option is the WordQ app that you can download from the Chrome store - It works just like the WordQ we know in other environments and saves files as a gdoc when you are done. It is only $18.99 versus Read&Write for Google which has an annual subscription of over $100 for the premium version.

I love the Read&Write for Chrome extension too (although a few features are not as good as other options - e.g. speech recognition) - their text to speech tool is brilliant and available in the free version... but because you need the premium version to get word prediction I think the cost is pretty high.  If you have the premium version then it's definitely a good option.

See my blog about Google literacy support extensions and apps for more information

Have a look at ThoughtQ Chrome app too - very cool.
