Interacting with other schools using IT

I am wanting to find out what are the best tools to use in order to interact with other schools on line etc. is skype the best way?

Hi Sarah
We did a project with some other schools and used Edmodo. There is a platform with Edmodo where children can write questions and comments etc. It is a little like Facebook but is education based.
