Here's a great opportunity to look at a range of online tools to inspire and excite your students.
Connecting readers: creating a reading social network is a 6-week fully facilitated online course offered by Services to Schools at the National Library. Even though it doesn't start till 28 July, we have only 6 places left - so urge any teachers interested to book without delay to secure your place.
You’ll build a deeper knowledge and understanding of how various social media can be used to develop, support and promote reading and reading communities. You’ll investigate and experiment with different social media in a supportive and constructive online environment.
Please note, we highly recommend you have some prior experience in using social media.
For further details, and to register, visit our PLD page at:

It's good value for an investment of only $100 per person - and you can still register at the Earlybird rate (for $80) if you get in before 30 June!
Any questions about content of this course, contact Katrina Young-Drew at katrina.young-drew@dia.govt.nz. Feel free to contact me (janet.mcfadden@dia.govt.nz) if you want any more information about our professional development programme (online as well as face-to-face)
Best wishes for Term 2!
