Connecting readers: creating a reading social network is a 6-week fully facilitated online course offered by Services to Schools at the National Library. Even though it doesn't start till 28 July, we have only 6 places left - so urge any teachers interested to book without delay to secure your place.

You’ll build a deeper knowledge and understanding of how various social media can be used to develop, support and promote reading and reading communities. You’ll investigate and experiment with different social media in a supportive and constructive online environment.

Please note, we highly recommend you have some prior experience in using social media.

For further details, and to register, visit our PLD page at:

http://schools.natlib.govt.nz/services/professional-development/connecting-readers-creating-reading-social-network

It's good value for an investment of only $100 per person - and you can still register at the Earlybird rate (for $80) if you get in before 30 June!

Any questions about content of this course, please contact Katrina Young-Drew at katrina.young-drew@dia.govt.nz. Feel free to contact me, Janet McFadden, with any other questions about our online professional learning programme.

    Hi again

Well, over the weekend there was a flurry of registrations - and this course was suddenly over-subscribed! So, we're now offering a repeat, starting just two weeks later, running 11 August to 19 September.

You're warmly invited to register for this one, and you'll finish in the second-last week of term.

    Cheers

    Janet
