Not an app, but a website I use in my maths programme is ww.xtramath.org. This website is based on fast recall of basic facts. My children love using this website. They receive personal pins and can access this page when at home. Each week you get emaield reports on how well the children are progressing with their recall. Children progress through the stages (addition-subtraction-multiplcation-division) and each time they complete a stage you get emailed a certificate. Very motivating and engaging for the children.
I've only looked at the promo videos for this, but I think eAko basic facts would provide an equally good service, and it is NZ based (through NZmaths)
I agree with you, Rob. e-ako nzmaths is great for our students. Latest additions include strands (Geometry and measurement) as well.
Yes e-ako is excellent for the students but I wish they could add a 'teacher dashboard' so you can get an overview of your students achievement/progress.
I couldn't agre more Katarina. It takes quite a bit of classroom organisation to find opportunities when the children are logged on and I am able to wander around and check on their progress. However, I still think its benefits far outweigh its constraints at this stage, but lets hope someone in the know sees your post and comes up with a solution for us.

abcya.com also has some good maths games on it. You can select the year level and the have number ordering games, add/sub games etc. Really fun games that the kids love and stick at to practice basic skill. Suitable from NE.
That website abcya is great. thanks for that,

Kia ora Janelle,
I have used Show me and educreations app to record (oral and written) students' thinking.
Here is the link to a discussion on Maths apps. /discussion/view/824434
Looking forward to hearing all about your journey especially use of digital technologies and its imapct on students' learning. Good luck!
We also are using websites rather than apps. We are using Khan Academy with our senior students, Mathleticis for our target students. We currently are looking at http://www.mangahigh.com/ . they are running a competition this coming week and you get a free go at the program for a month. Our students also use sumdog and they enjoy this.

katarina, 'Teacher dashboard' is a great idea and lots of teachers have indicated that it would be of great help. I will try and contact nzmaths regarding this.
