As part of the oral language sections, it is great to build up a repertoire of audio and video tools for use in classrooms. These may be housed on computers, iPads, iPods or other technology devices, but all are worthy of sharing here. It is helpful if you can include any relevant links and some information on how you have used the tools.
My favourite thing to do with audio is to make a podcast. Here is my 'How to podcast' Web space.

If you search iTunes for 'Allanah's Appleby Showcase' you will see our podcast channel. Sadly I don't have a class to post podcasts with any more but the examples there are quite good ones I think.

For recording quick audio on the go I like AudioPal because it is so simple but won't work on an iPad because it needs flash so as well I generally put the audio file into Dropbox to allow a direct download.
For recording on an iPad I use either AudioBoo or Soundcloud.
Here is a blog post I wrote on how to use AudioBoo and put it into a blob.

Sherryn Lines at Brightwater School does a fabulous job of using AudioBoo to record children's stories and she embeds them on her blog each week.

At the moment we are using Showme a lot in particular for sharing numeracy strategies - this is iPad based. It's a whiteboard app that records your talking as you write. An alternative to this is educreations which allows you to do this through the app and also their website. Both of those apps are free.
There is also Explain Everything which allows you to have multiple pages but this is a paid app. Here is an example of using Hello Crayon + Skitch + Explain Everything via the iPad for a reading response.
My kids are just starting to use Fotobabble also for their numeracy as well, but I've used it in lots of different ways. It allows you to take a photo and talk over the photo. Fotobabble has online, iPad and iPod versions making it quite versatile. They are currently working on an app for android.
Here's a cool blogpost on, 3 Strategies to Improve Student Writing Instantly which includes some helpful references to e-tools to help record/capture and audio scribe a piece of work.
