New Chromebook

Started by Monika Kern 31 Aug 2013 9:31pm () Replies (6)

Following two of my schools' decision for 1-on-1 Chromebooks for their senior students from 2014, I bought a Chromebook this week. I have to say, I am quite impressed! My biggest concern was about its offline capabilities given that a lot of our whanau don't have the internet at home but that seems to be taken care of. Would love to find more useful apps, the likes of iOS' iMovie, Puppet Pals HD, Piccollage, My Story (text, picture / photo and voice) - any suggestions much appreciated (Allanah and Dave, have already had a look through your collections and downloaded a few things).

I will trial it in day to day practise for a while and see how it holds up as a laptop substitute :-)

Hey Monika Not all apps are free but most are. We are looking to have a modest budget to ensure that we can provide the best apps to the students. favorite extensions - bitly , chromespeak, mighty text, save to ggogle drive popchrom. Favorite Apps: wevideo, picassa, pixton, evernote, tecaher dashboard, tweetdeck, lucid charts, scribble maps.
