The State of Victoria has some excellent iPads resources this one on Special Ed is super helpful

When I talk to Spec Ed groups always share this with them and the feedback is very positive

    Hi there,

I am a specialist teacher and I work with special needs children every day and use iPads to assist their learning. With appropriate apps, it really does depend upon the needs of the child. However the apps I love to work with for accessing literacy and story telling are:

StoryBuddy- this is a great simple app that you can create your own books in. You can record audio for voice overlay to suppor the read back of stories, I get the students to read their sentences and this is a good speech and language practice activity.

Clicker Sentences/Clicker Docs- I have just started using the Clicker sentences app with a 5 year old autistic boy that I teach. It is great because you can easy pop in photos and create sentences for him, particularly good because he has very little language.

These are very versitile apps that are limited by your imagination. I prefer to invest in 2, paid for, reliable versitile apps that more that are free, full of ads and unreliable. Sharing is enabled for both of these apps through email, pdf or evernote too so you can print out their work- I should be on comission!!!

    Good Luck ;0)
