Online courses, including Content Curation, from National Library

Hi there,

I'm new to this group, as an enthusiastic advocate for online learning.

I'd like to share the new opportunities we're offering teachers, to take one of our online Professional Learning & Development courses - using the VLN Moodle platform.  To see course details:

The newly created courses, with 3 sets of delivery dates for each, are:

  • Curating content for digital learners: helping students manage information overload will enable you to come up with a collection of curated content on a topic relevant to students in your school (primary or secondary), using an online curation tool that you'll select during the course.
  •  Connecting readers: creating a reading social network explores the many ways you can use social media to develop, support and promote reading.
  • School libraries online: engaging your learners 24/7 will enable you to build a deeper understanding of the school library online environment and its role in supporting student learning, and help you further develop your library's online presence.

You'd be supported throughout by advisers who are trained e-facilitators, so these courses are for everyone whether you're new to online learning or more experienced.

So, if you want to avoid cramming your PLD into an already full school day, and prefer to log in at a time and place that fits in with your other commitments, do take a look at these - and of course, if you want to get in touch, my details are below.
