Talofa lava, kia orana, fakaalofa lahi atu, talofa ni, mālō e lelei, ni sa bula...

Recently, I was reminded of a couple of useful digital resources to help us think about how we support our Pasifika students. A video uploaded to EdTalks earlier this year features Nick Tuitasi, the Pacific Engagement Advisor with Te Wananga o Aotearoa, speaking about his work with at risk youth.

I have also been exploring:

Image: Pasifika Education PlanThe Ministry of Education has recently released their Pasifika Education Plan 2013-2017. It aims to "adopt a Pasifika connected way of working. This ‘connectedness’ highlights the importance of Pasifika collective partnerships, relationships and responsibilities and demands consistently high quality and effective education for Pasifika success."

Have a browse through these resources over the holiday break, especially if you will have Pasifika learners in your class or school next year.

And consider how we might combine the guidance and vision in them, with the opportunities inherent in digital technologies, to create connected, meaningful learning for the students and their communities.

Feel free to share a thought, comment or plan for 2013...
