Is the use of computer programmed modelling an appropriate way to increase student understanding of geometry? We are about to find out.

Here is the First Project Challenge

1. Create a Scratch script which tells a sprite to draw
each of the following shapes in succession.

triangle square pentagon hexagon octagon

I ran a PINs (Passions, Interests and Needs) session last year with a group of kids keen to learn programming.  It was an 1 1/2 hour session, so not long.  We made mazes but the kids loved it.  Haven't done much this year with Scratch but my kids are keen for me to run some more sessions with them as some of them were in my class last year when we had a tinker with it.  I'm also keen to see how people are incorporating it into their daily learning.
